Being part of this program feels like the start of something meaningful. It’s not often that you find an environment where growth is encouraged and people truly invest in one another’s development.

BETTER WORK has given me the ability to hit restart on my life. I really feel I have a second chance. It feels good to have someone who believes in me. The confidence I thought I lost came back. That dark space I was in has turned into light.

I am excited about pursuing my education to work towards my career goals, as well as showing the glory God has brought in my life. Before, I wasn’t really sure of myself. Hearing other’s situations and experiences they’ve been through and relating helped me realize it’s not about what you go through, but how you get through it.

I have more confidence in myself now. I think more positive and value life more now, and I know what I want out of life. This class showed me that there are people in this world that actually care and have my best interest at heart. This class has really been a blessing to me.

The more important thing BETTER WORK has taught me is that I have the ability to do whatever it is that I want to do. I just have to apply myself and not get in the way of my own potential.

With my roadblocks, I’ve learned how to maneuver through those obstacles. It has been a wonderful joy learning new things. As far as meeting new people, the classes, the facilitators, the guest speakers. They’ve given us real encouraging words to keep us going, to where we won’t give up on things. I went back to school. Now I’m currently in the surgical tech program, and I should be finishing with that in 2028.

The classes helped me recognize that I’m strong and very confident within myself. It doesn’t matter what age you are. If you want something out of life, get up and work hard to achieve the job you want in life.
