COREY BURRES
Vice President of Communications
As Vice President of Communications, Corey is responsible for expanding the impact of the organization through diverse communication strategies. Using story telling and communication tools, he works to clarify the message of GCO to its various audiences.
Originally from the midwest, Corey received a bachelor of arts degree from North Central University in Minneapolis, MN.
Prior to coming to GCO, Corey worked as the Director of Communications for the Freedom Foundation in Washington state. During his tenure with the Freedom Foundation, Corey directed the award-winning educational documentary Flunked. At the same time, he served as a consultant with many state think tanks around the country to help them utilize marketing and story telling to improve public policy. He then took this knowledge and experience into the private sector as the Director of Marketing for a national technology firm.
In his free time, Corey and his wife live by the mantra “divide and conquer,” as they juggle the responsibilities of child activities, foster care, church leadership, and young adult and marriage mentorship.
