The Dignity of Work

Our goal is to help individuals flourish through productive work – which leads to dignity, a sense of purpose and self-sufficiency. These are all essential traits to developing strong families & healthy communities.

Among our greatest concern is long-term unemployment, by which individuals simply fall out of the job market – and then stay out – initiating what can become generational cycles of poverty, lost potential, and hopelessness.

More than a half million Georgians are unemployed or unable to find full-time employment. Many of these individuals are ready to flourish if given the opportunity.

GCO is partnering with local and national companies in communities across the state to share organizational best practices combatting Georgia’s chronic unemployment issues, and learning how businesses are partnering with nonprofits to employ the jobless, while improving their bottom line.
