Randy Hicks, serving as the President and CEO of the Georgia Center for Opportunity (GCO) since 1997, has significantly shaped public policy and community engagement in Georgia and beyond, focusing on critical areas such as education, employment, public safety, and family stability. His leadership facilitated landmark initiatives like the partnership with the Institute for American Values in 2008 to conduct the nation’s first study on the national taxpayer costs of divorce and unwed childbearing, and the co-leading of a pivotal White House conference on family-strengthening community initiatives. Invited by former Georgia Chief Justice Leah Sears, Hicks contributed his expertise to the Supreme Court Commission on Children, Marriage, and Family Law, further emphasizing his commitment to societal betterment. In 2020, he played a key role in forming the Alliance for Opportunity, a regional multi-state partnership aiming to alleviate poverty for hundreds of thousands over the next decade.
