Tony Kitchens
GCO Board Member and Reentry and Reintegration Specialist
Tony is a nationally respected voice in the field of criminal justice reform and community reintegration. A pioneer in shaping Georgia’s reentry and reintegration strategies, Tony brings decades of lived and professional experience to GCO’s Board of Directors.
His journey has redefined what reintegration can mean for individuals, families, and communities. Tony served with both the Georgia Department of Corrections and the Department of Community Supervision. He later became Georgia State Director for Prison Fellowship, championing the message of hope and second chances across the state.
During his tenure with the Governor’s Office of Transition, Support, and Reentry (GOTSR), Tony served on GCO’s Prisoner Reentry Task Force that introduced six policy recommendations that helped form the foundation of the Georgia Prisoner Reentry Initiative (GAPRI)—a nationally recognized model for coordinated, data-driven reintegration.
Today, Tony continues his mission as the Visionary Architect of Reentry Plus®, where he develops innovative experiential learning tools that equip justice-impacted individuals to reclaim control over their lives. His expertise blends academic training in psychology, certification in Reentry Leadership from Wheaton College, and his credentialing as a Certified Choice Coach and Experiential Learning Trainer.
Tony’s voice and vision inspire a reimagining of reintegration—not just as a return to society, but as a shared opportunity for personal evolution and community transformation.
