Rachel Hamilton

Rachel Hamilton serves as the Georgia Center for Opportunity’s (GCO) Grants Associate. In that role, she researches prospective donors, and she gathers information for and writes grant applications.

Rachel has been involved with the nonprofit sector since high school, when she was a member of the National Teen Advisory Board for a nonprofit called Girl Talk, Inc. That experience sparked a desire in her to use her talents to meet the needs of her community, especially by supporting organizations that seek to transform lives by restoring people’s confidence and encouraging them to become the best version of themselves.

Prior to GCO, Rachel was a Grant Writing Intern at another nonprofit organization called HOI, Inc. (Honduras Outreach International). That opportunity was invaluable in allowing her to apply her previous experience and education.

Rachel earned a bachelor’s degree in English, and when she learned about grant writing as a career, she obtained a certification in the field by completing online courses. Outside of work, she enjoys writing music, video editing, and flower arranging.

GCO’s mission inspires Rachel because she is passionate about empowering Georgia’s most under-served residents to reach their full potential and achieve their goals.
