Jimmy Kemp
Jimmy Kemp is a Partner at TDI International (TDI) where he advises clients on complex matters
at the intersection of the public and private sectors. Jimmy joined TDI in 2023 with a diverse
portfolio of experience spanning US government advocacy, philanthropic leadership, and
strategic consulting. He has lobbied at the federal, state, and local levels, has advised political
candidates, and served on the 2016 Presidential transition team as leader of the US
Department of Housing and Urban Development landing team advising Secretary Ben
Carson.
Jimmy is driven by a passion for helping future leaders realize their full potential through his
work as President of the Jack Kemp Foundation. He established the Jack Kemp Foundation in
2009 to develop, engage and recognize exceptional leaders who champion the American idea,
beginning with the premise that the condition of your birth shouldn’t determine the outcome
of your life.
In addition to his leadership work, Jimmy brings an entrepreneurial mindset, having co-
founded Kemp Partners—a strategic consulting firm—in 2002. In 2013, he became an investor
in Group 47—a digital data storage company. Prior to TDI, he worked at Patton Boggs, LLP, then
a premier law firm founded by renowned lobbyist, Tom Boggs. He also played eight years
as a quarterback in the Canadian Football League.
Jimmy earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Wake Forest University. He served as
Founding Chairman of the Board for the Hope Community Charter School in Washington, DC,
and spent 14 years coaching youth football for the Blessed Sacrament Bulldogs of the Rockville
Football League. He teaches 11th grade Sunday school at Fourth Presbyterian Church in
Bethesda, MD. Jimmy and his wife, Susan, have four boys and one daughter-in-law.
