As Director of Government Affairs at the Georgia Center for Opportunity (GCO), Jamie Lord shepherds GCO’s policy goals through the legislative process. She has been lobbying the Georgia legislature for much of her career.

One of Jamie’s proudest achievements was lobbying for the creation of the Georgia Special Needs Scholarship Program, which provides eligible special education students with the opportunity to attend a public or private school that best meets their needs.

Jamie has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Georgia State University. She lives in Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward with her husband, her two step-children, and her dog, Hank.

Through her work at GCO, Jamie has seen lives forever transformed for the better because of laws that were changed, repealed, or created. She is dedicated to making sure that legislative actions remove rather than create barriers to opportunity for Georgians.
